I know, It's Early: Hot-lanta Start

A few stats to check-out so far, (way too) early in the 2013 season:

The Braves have allowed 31 runs in 2013, that's 11 fewer than any other team in MLB (Boston-41); the next closest in the NL in the Dodgers with 55 and the next in division (Washington) is more than double that amount (71).

Replacing A Legend: Brave's Third-Basemen through 15 games vs. CJ's first 15 games of 2012.

Oakland and Atlanta are only MLB teams with a perfect record on the road, all other teams have 2 losses or more.

Atlanta's run differential (74 RS, 31 RA) of +43 is 10 runs better than any other team in MLB.

As a team, Atlanta is 1st in MLB in ERA (1.92), WHIP (.101), BAA (.208), Homers (29) and shutouts (3).

Upton has raked early on, well protected in Atlanta's lineup.
As a team, Atlanta is 2nd in NL in OPS (.805), Slugging (.473) and Total Bases (239).

The Braves so far are 13-0 in games when they score a (1) run.

Chris Johnson was the 'throw-in' player in the Upton/Prado deal, his third new team since the start of 2012. Johnson has played in 13 games, has 21 hits and leads the league in BA. Albert Pujols didn't collect his 21st hit with his new team, the LA Angels in 2012, until game 25.

Justin Upton has 9 homers after 15 games; last season for Arizona, Upton didn't hit his 9th homer until game 98. In 2001, during Barry Bonds single-season record breaking season (73), Bonds didn't hit his 9th HR until game 18.

How Braves Top 4 Stack-up vs. ESPN's Pre-Season Top 4.
Paul Maholm has not allowed a run in 23 consecutive innings dating back from last season. In 14 starts since being traded to Atlanta, Maholm has allowed 2 runs or fewer in 10 starts, 6 of those allowing 0. In Maholm's last 8 starts with the Braves he owns a 1.01 ERA with 47 strikeouts and only 14 walks. Prior to 2012, Maholm's career ERA was 4.36.

Craig Kimbrel is back at it again this season; 7 saves in 7.2 IP, 2 hits, 2 walks and 10 Ks. Dating back from July 24th of last season- in Kimbrel's last 39 appearances, he's pitched 33 innings: 62 strikeouts (1.9/IP), 6 walks (0.2/IP), 13 hits (0.4/IP) and has allowed only one earned run (solo homer).

Braves new cleanup-hitter

Atlanta leads all of MLB in former janitors on the active roster; Evan Gattis is 4th in NL in HR (5), 10th in NL in RBI (12) and 5th in NL in SLG (.674) despite never having a major league AB until this season.
